Dental decay happens when the enamel and dentine of a tooth become softened by acid attack, producing a cavity (hole). If the decay is not too serious, our cosmetic Specialist will remove all the decay and restore the tooth with a white (tooth coloured) filling.
Our dentists can also safely replace silver amalgam fillings with white tooth coloured fillings.
Children’s Fillings:
At Specialist Dental we use a special material called Glass Ionomer Cement should your child need to have a filling. It chemically bonds to the tooth, meaning that we can keep the hole as small as possible. The cement leaches fluoride into the tooth helping to prevent secondary decay.
